Meet the maker

HELLO & welcome to my first blog post!

A Brief introduction for those whom I'm yet to meet; I drink way too much coffee & I eat far too much food. My favourite pastime, when I'm not in the studio, is spending time with all of my animals. I recently saved a pet lamb called Norman, who you'll see in about 500 of my latest Instagram posts, as I'm a little bit, (lot), obsessed with him. I also have 1 rabbit and 3 dogs who I'm besotted with. Oh, and a Donkey. As you do...

But anyway, a bit about my work... I handcraft concrete home wares from my studio in Darlington for fashion conscious home owners and popular Instagram product stylists. I'm fairly sure that there's something addictive about having concrete in the home, because I've built up a lovely bunch of customers who religiously purchase my new products as soon as they're released. Nobody ever seems to shop at Hannah Harriet just once!

Homewares have always been a passion of mine, but I got totally bored of seeing the same old things in the high street shops. Robots are clever but everything looks the same. I LOVE hand crafting concrete because each item has it's own quirks and individuality, which is something that I celebrate with my hands up in the air -- no two pieces are alike. From the size of the pot and the way the marbling shapes, to the colour of each layer of pigment and the air bubbles that naturally occur in the making process -- replication is impossible. Handcrafted concrete products are as unique as we are!

But why plant pots? (I get asked this a lot)... Plants have always been a big thing in my family. I can confidently say that my Dad has at least 5 different plants in every room of the house. When he has a big birthday he plants that many trees to celebrate; i.e, 50 trees for his 50th, etc...  Plants ensure your home and even workplace feel welcoming and calm. House your plant family in my stunning selection of planters. Breathe life into your home or office as each individual piece will make a striking statement in your little corner of the world.

*AAAAND exhale* If you'd like to know more then there's plenty more waffle about me and about what I do over on my Instagram page. I'd love to keep in touch with you.

Love,

Hannah Harriet x
